13 artists, 13 heritage sites

The Terres-de-Meuse Tourist Office offers you the opportunity to explore 13 heritage sites in the region between the Geer and Meuse highlighted by the talents of comic book artists. The principle is simple. We asked 13 artists to choose a heritage site located in Terres-de-Meuse and reproduce it in a drawing from the period that resonated with him/her the most. The result is 13 panels featuring a building, an architectural ensemble...at a point in history from the Middle Ages to the middle of the 20th century. It's not about rendering historical truth, even the most seasoned historians have difficulty with visual representation. And it's also not about kidding around spotting anachronisms. What we asked the artists to render was more about how they saw a site at a certain period in time and to represent that in a drawing.

Discover heritage in another way

This journey through the 9th art is a great opportunity to (re)discover the talent of Walloon artists such as Stibane, Dizier, Delvaux, Venanzi, Courtois, Van Linthout, Marc-Renier, Defresne, Pierrephi, Chardez, Pierret, Hachel and even Carin, while also appreciating the architectural and landscape beauty of the region.
And why not make the most of the opportunity to introduce the younger generations to the heritage in a fun way.
