Maps of the walks are available at the Terres-de-Meuse Maison du Tourisme. Itineraries are also available online.

1. The Solières Valley

This walk starts at the Elysée-Beaufort restaurant parking lot, on the edge of the forest along the main road. Leave your car behind and get ready for a beautiful nature experience with this walk, just a stone’s throw from Huy! The Solière stream will accompany you along the way.

Don’t hesitate to climb up to Trou Manto, the legendary home of the little magical beings of the forest, which today serves as a refuge for numerous bats. The Solières valley is a protected site, so please keep your faithful companion on a leash.

2. Promenade de la Rochette

Drive to the Condroz and the pretty village of Villers-le-Temple, for a 9.5 km walk. A beautiful nature escape: woods, wild paths and magnificent stone houses. If you like to walk in the woods without meeting anyone, if you want to disconnect from the world, this is the walk for you! In the company of your faithful companion, take care to respect nature and other walkers.

This itinerary will take you to the Rochette rock, a prehistoric site. Numerous objects from the Neolithic period, especially tools, have been found here and are now on display at the Curtius Museum in Liège.

3. Stroll in Sandron Wood

Do you want to get some fresh air with your dog, in peace and quiet in the heart of a wood? It’s possible in Terres-de-Meuse, in Marchin, in the Condroz region! Departing from Place de Belle-Maison, this very accessible 7 km itinerary will take you all the way to Bel-Air, skirting the Parc du Château de Belle-Maison. After a quick tour of the village and its beautiful stonework, you’ll then enter the Sandron Woods via the Chemin des Gueuses.

Don’t miss the remarkable hollow-trunked tree in the chestnut alley. Finally, enter the Bois de Sandron for a beautiful loop in the heart of nature.

4. Pont-de-Bonne promenade

Between water and wooded paths around the Château de Modave, the Pont-de-Bonne walk is a favorite! Departing from the village of Pont-de-Bonne, this route follows the old railway line 126, now the RAVeL. You pass in front of the old Vyle-Tharoul station, before crossing the road carefully to reach the hamlet of Limet through the woods.

A pleasant route to take with your dog, before reaching the Château de Modave.

Ps: At the end of the day, the passage through the drève du château at sunset is magical!

5. Vieux-Waleffe Promenade

We suggest a pleasant route in the Hesbaye region, for a lovely walk with your dog: the Vieux-Waleffe walk! Located in the commune of Villers-le-Bouillet, Vieux-Waleffe is a village of character turned towards agriculture, with its local stone houses, its small church and its beautiful farms.

This 8 km walk, not very frequented, will take you to discover this hamlet full of charm, its countryside, small wooded areas and its heritage.
