Inaugurated in 1872 by the Hesbaye Condroz company, railway line 126 was designed to serve former industrial sites such as blast furnaces or the Delloye-Matthieu sheet metal works. After the Second World War, the line was gradually closed due to a lack of freight traffic. In 2008, it was almost completely cleared to make way for walkers, cyclists and horse riders.
Today, RAVeL 126 offers 24 km of change of scenery and discovery. Equipped with a detailed map, you won’t miss any of the Condroz jewels where you can take the time to stop.
Don’t miss: the educational panels installed by the Syndicat d’Initiative “Entre Eaux & Châteaux” and the communes of Modave, Marchin and Clavier recounting anecdotes, local legends, explanations of flora and fauna or even good addresses nearby.
Surely, the Hoyoux Valley will hold no secrets for you!
