a haven of peace in Hesbaye

When you park your car in the farm’s cobbled courtyard, you’re already under the spell… Even from the outside, the big house looks welcoming, and you can’t hear anything except birdsong. I haven’t traveled many miles, yet I already feel out of place.

We’re warmly welcomed by the owner of the premises, who invites us in for a tour.

Once inside, the magic happens…

The house is spacious, bright. First we discover a large, convivial kitchen, a dining room for 10 with long table, which promises great dinners with family or friends joyfully animated. Further on, we discover a spacious living room (with an énoooorme television for great movie nights), as well as a library with a piano.

When you climb the beautiful oak staircase to find yourself upstairs, you’ll find 3 bedrooms. The one at the far end has a double bed with its own shower room. In the corridor, we discover a twin room with its own shower room, and finally the most beautiful of all… the large bedroom at the end, ultra-comfortable with its spacious and original shower, and two entrances. I’ve made up my mind to sleep in this one!

Hugely impressed by the Refuge du Saule. We feel right at home here.

In short, the gîte can accommodate up to 7 people 3 bedrooms with 2 double beds and 2 single beds, a fold-out bed and a cot. Each bedroom has its own private bathroom and toilet.

A home in a green setting

The big plus at Refuge du Saule? Its exteriors, with the 3300m² garden, overlooked by a large terrace. In the garden, you can’t miss it: the reclining willow, which gave Refuge du Saule its name. The willow is said to have fallen before regaining its roots, lying in the grass. Surprising and beautiful at the same time.

A little further on, we find the swimming pool. And I think, like me, you’ll want to spend some time there, especially if the sun is out! The ideal place to relax and enjoy an aperitif with friends, just before a good bbq! In the near future, the gite will also offer you a hammam, for even more relaxation.

On the menu for us, salmon and asparagus with bbq, a killer!!

If you wish, the gite team offers additional services, such as breakfast delivery, a home chef and even massages!!
