Terres-de-Meude ambassador

The cold, the rain, the stress of work, the shortened days… Does it all take its toll on you? How about giving yourself a break at Le Paradis d’Henri? Hidden away in the little village of Cras-Avernas near Hannut, this perfectly equipped gîte for 2 to 6 people is a real nugget, which you owe it to yourself to discover if you’re heading to Terres-de-Meuse!

Owners Isabelle and Bernard have carefully furnished their accommodation, to create a warm and comfortable space, where you feel good straight away.
In the heart of the countryside, the pretty village of Cras-Avernas promises peace and quiet. Just a stone’s throw from Hannut, the gîte is easily accessible, just 20 minutes from Huy, 30 minutes from Liège and 50 minutes from Brussels via the freeway.

The interior

contemporary and comfortable

Around the gîte, pretty houses, meadows and green fields,
it’s certain, here, we’ll feel right at home.
The owners’ welcome is both warm and discreet,
with a quick, but thoughtful and precise presentation of the premises.
When you enter the accommodation, you’re immediately seduced
by the contemporary, but warm, tastefully chosen decoration, and the omnipresent light.

The ground floor

The first floor is totally open-plan, with a large, fully-equipped kitchen and an ultra-cosy living room. In the cupboards, you’ll find all the equipment you need to cook delicious meals during your stay. We are surprised and touched by all the little attentions of our hosts: local apple juice in the fridge, softs, small chocolates… It’s certain, Isabelle and Bernard have at heart to do everything possible to make us feel at home.

Upstairs

Let’s return to the gîte and head upstairs. At the top of the spiral staircase are the two bedrooms, with one for the little ones equipped with a mezzanine where they can play and tell stories. In the second bedroom, the bed makes you want to curl up on it, with its ultra-comfortable mattress (it’s one of the best beds I’ve ever slept in!). There’s also a bathroom, toilet and laundry room, with a hydro-jet shower. What a pleasure to be able to enjoy the soft bathrobes and ultra-soft towels! Because yes, everything is included here: no need to load up your suitcase with bath towels, the beds are also made up on your arrival.

Last but not least, the infrared sauna! One of the best ways to warm up deeply, after a day of winter walking.

The exterior

relaxation and fun

Le jardin du Paradis d’Henri

The large bay window in the living room opens onto the terrace (not overlooked) and the large private garden. Next to the terrace, in a covered space made of wood and glass, the Jacuzzi awaits us, already heated to the right temperature. All we have to do is settle in, take a shower and enjoy!”

In the garden, there’s a play structure for the kids with slide and swing. Plenty to keep the little ones busy while they relax in the hot tub!

A king’s breakfast

The next day, we woke up rested with a king’s breakfast, brought straight to our doorstep in a pretty basket! Inside, the best of the region: freshly baked pastries and rolls, freshly squeezed juice, local charcuterie and cheeses. Just the thing to start the day off on the right foot and get us started on our day’s hike.
