This commune is made up of 8 villages (Avennes, Braives, Ciplet, Fallais, Fumal, Latinne, Tourinne and Ville-en-Hesbaye) and several small, often picturesque hamlets (Hosdent, Brivioule, Pitet). With the exception of Tourinne on the Hesbaye plateau, the other villages lie in the peaceful Mehaigne valley. Agricultural plateaus with vast open landscapes are followed by the quiet slopes of the Mehaigne, covered with meadows, woods and poplar groves.
Willow village, local market
Since 2012, the Willow Village in Hosdent, among other activities, has been putting this emblematic valley tree in the spotlight. Braives is a lively and active commune, with a vibrant local market on Wednesday afternoons on the site of the old Braives railway station.
