Dive into history

It’s said that Belgium has the highest number of castles per square kilometer?
No wonder there are so many in Terres-de-Meuse.
Medieval in origin, classical in style, furnished or in ruins… you’ll find them of all styles and from different eras.
Don’t hesitate for a moment and push open the door of these prestigious residences
where your children will imagine themselves as knights, princes and princesses.

The Terres-de-Meuse region is one of Wallonia’s major heritage areas, with a wealth of historic residences.
Donjons, manors, fortified houses, castles from different eras, forts, relics…
all 27 communes in the area have at least one castle to show you.
Here, we’ve limited ourselves to castles classified as Wallonia’s major heritage sites, but also
to others offering public access at certain times of the year.
