The Mouhagne trail in Moxhe

Camille from The Pretty Getaways blog took advantage of a ray of sunshine to discover the Mouhagne trail (Mehaigne in Walloon). A trail in Moxhe, in the commune of Hannut, following the river for almost 2 km.

La Mouhagne

Inaugurated in May 2019, this trail, created on the initiative of ASBL Moxhe Au Fil de l’Eau and the Town of Hannut, crosses and highlights a site of great biological interest in which some 200 pollarded willows and 1,300 trees and shrubs can be found.

The site is also home to many birds. Perhaps you’ll be lucky enough to spot a roe deer?

A walk to raise awareness of the need to respect nature and the local flora and fauna.

The walk in a few lines line:

  • Distance: +/- 2 km
  • Duration: 1h
  • Start: Rue des Wérihets à Moxhe, 4280 Hannut. A small sign will direct you to the Sentier de la Mouhagne.
  • Dogs allowed on leash
  • Suitable for children
  • Not suitable for strollers and people with reduced mobility
