Chips ReBel

  • How did the idea of producing potato potato chips in the Hesbaye region come about?

Basically, we’re a potato production cooperative for the fresh market, and we were looking to diversify our activities. After several months of reflection, we decided to go into the production of ORGANIC potato chips. It’s a potato-based product (just the thing for us!), a fun product that everyone eats. We created the reBEL brand: BEL obviously refers to Belgium, and with the name reBEL we wanted to show that we do things differently: ORGANIC potato chips, sustainable production, colorful packs with drawings representing Belgian symbols.

  • Where do the potatoes come from?

They come almost exclusively from STG. STG is a cooperative of around 15 potato growers, half of whom have converted to organic farming. The potatoes come from plots located no more than 20 km from the cooperative. Our potato chips are traditionally cooked in a cauldron, using 100% natural ingredients, and are also allergen-free.

  • What’s your favorite flavor?

At the moment we offer 5 flavors: sea salt, lemon pepper, thyme rosemary, smoked paprika and black pepper.
I love lemon pepper, it’s the latest flavor we’ve released. It’s spicy but not too spicy, with a little lemon flavor that adds freshness.

  • What are your ambitions for the future?

We want to expand our range with new tastes, new products and extend our store network
